Statement of Purpose

Our Mission

Simply stated, our mission is to be the best parents we can be.

Our Purpose

The purpose of this site is to help people become the best parents they can be, offering assistance to those who request it.
If you have any questions about any aspect of your custody case or personal situation, please visit our Discussion Boards; you will find an active community of caring parents to share your concerns with at most times of the day (questions usually answered within a few hours). Please be sure to read our FAQ section and Legal Links first, as many common questions are answered there.

Due to the overwhelming volume of email questions we have been receiving, we apologize that we will no longer be able to answer questions privately, as a free service. Please publicly post your inquiry on our Discussion Board.
If you are an actual or potential non-custodial parent (NCP), you are likely to find numerous obstacles to remaining involved with your children, after your separation from the other parent (otherwise known as the "X"). Some of these obstacles are in the form of:
For all the above stated reasons, we feel that the current laws governing the family courts do not ensure the welfare of the children; most of the time, the mere involvement of the court itself is detrimental to the childrens' interests. It is imperative that we, as concerned parents and citizens, commit ourselves to rectifying these grave injustices. If we do not, we can be sure that this abysmal situation will never improve; in all likelihood, it will get even worse. We strongly urge you to read the Sample Resolution, by Mr. Karl Denninger, and the Constitutional Rights of Parents, by Mr. Don Hubin.

Our Goals

One of our primary goals is to pass legislation throughout the states, which will guarantee both biological or adoptive parents NO LESS THAN the:

"REBUTTABLE PRESUMPTION OF EQUAL SHARED PARENTING"

Other groups are also working on this; we aim to join forces, so that all NCP may petition our elected officials with a unified voice.
We urge you to contact your local elected officials. Please, please, please, contact them to let them know you are in favor of shared parenting legislation, and you want your opinion heard. (They are busy, so keep it brief, and professional.) Though family law falls primarily within the jurisdiction of the several states, there is a fundamental liberty interest (and thus, constitutional) issue involved here as well. Please, make sure your national representatives hear from you also. The democratic process only works if individual citizens get involved with their elected representatives. One of the major obstacles currently facing the NCP movement is that the CP groups are so much more vocal and much better organized (and funded) than we are. Elected representatives NEED to hear from us before they will take any action that may help. It only takes a few minutes to write a letter, fax, phone, or email; please do it for your (and all of our) children. Here is a sample letter.
We have provided links to every state legislature and state government, as well as the national legislature. If you are seeking to contact your local elected representatives, you will find those links in our regional links (click the "LINKS" button on the left, then the "REGIONAL" button on the right; choose your state from the list, then click on the "Senate," "House," or "Assembly" links). If you wish to contact your national elected representatives, those links can be found in the Political Links. If you wish to contact various organizations of television and print media, those links can be found in the Media Links.
In addition to providing an easy means to becoming more politically active regarding child custody issues, we feel that an important part of this site is to direct the individuals who require it, to various legal resources. While we are unable and unqualified to dispense legal advice, either in general or in specific, we feel our Legal Links are a good starting point. If you are looking for an attorney, or wish to research case law, or are considering representing yourself, visit the various websites we have linked there. If you are seeking the text of family laws in your state, you will find those links in our regional links (click the "LINKS" button on the left, then the "REGIONAL" button on the right; choose your state from the list, then click on the "Family Code" link.)

Our Modus Operandi (M.O.)

We intend to use this web site to organize our supporters. Currently, there are many "splinter" groups, each with a slightly different agenda, all working individually. Through this site, we will attempt to provide an "umbrella" to facilitate the union of these many organizations; we will then exert our influence to bring fairness, justice, equity and sanity, back into the divorce/custody process. Possible tactics include e-mail writing campaigns, organized rallies, or civil disobedience, if necessary.

What each of us can do to help

In addition to the previously suggested actions of writing to your elected representatives as frequently as you can, you may join our ongoing targeted email campaign by getting on our mailing list. The more concerned individuals participating in this campaign, the better. We will inform you of the details, so that the emails reach the intended target simultaneously. For those of you who wish to become even more involved, we suggest putting up your own web site, and/or creating your own mailing list of concerned allies. We will be glad to help you get started, if you desire. If you have political experience, and would like to organize rallies for the cause, that would be very helpful. Every little action taken by a supporter can only help the cause. For a few more ideas, please visit Activism for Newbies, or Getting Your Message Across. Feel free to contact us to discuss these issues further.
If you would like, you are more than welcome to JOIN US. There are no fees, dues, or any other requirements except a sincere desire to achieve a better future for all of our nation's children. We will add you to our mailing list (which we will not sell, or otherwise distribute; we respect your privacy) to keep you updated on developments as they occur.
