"Co-Parent Prayer"
Today, I kneel and pray unto you; my Lord
For the courage and strength
To forgive and accept
All this change and consequence
Of those dreams we kept
In my days of tomorrow
Let me forget my losses and sorrows
Of yesterdays
And all the harms that went by
That tomorrow’s wings will fly
I ask you- Lord, to help me find a source
Of cooperation and compromise
Unfound any other way
And to assist us in coordinating
Our children’s time here today
I know it will take courage and strength
To hesitate and think before I say
The anger unrest inside of me
Please help me turn the other cheek
From that in which I do not agree
In my days of tomorrow
Let me forget my losses and sorrows
Of yesterdays
And all the harms that went by
That tomorrow’s wings will fly
A lifetime with our children is long before us
That we might find a peaceful settlement
Of all the old bitterness
So, I kneel down to ask for your assistance
That you might be my witness
For hope, faith and this heart I care to renew
I pray for acceptance of my co-parent
For our children’s benefit
Their mutual love and admiration supported
Parental bonds, we commit
In my days of tomorrow
Let me forget my losses and sorrows
Of yesterdays
And all the harms that went by
That tomorrow’s wings will fly
