"I am her Dad"
When my child came along and made me a DAD
Never did I think I could ever be sad
In my case don't put the blame on me
Let's just say she wanted to be free
I did not want an ugly divorce
But she set out on a different course
Whatever the cause we're no longer together
She got my daughter , didn't matter what was better
Sometimes I wonder where my little girl is
What she is doing and who it is with
I get to see her on my visitation
And that's all I have for information
Spent thousands of dollars, shed oceans of tears
I'm still missing those precious years
I want to be part of my daughters life
I wish the courts could keep that in sight
The situation is very sad
When everything is a battle just to be her DAD
You always hear that DADS just quit
I guess they get tired of the prejudicial *&%#
Mom will swear that the whole truth is
She's the only one my child will miss
Her mom must have forgotten how I loved my child
Did she think it ended when divorce papers were filed
Everyone knows in a custody fight
Mom usually gets the kids no matter what's right
If mom doesn't want them or she's totally unfit
That's when you hear" DAD got the kids"
Courts are all crowded, Judges have heard it all
But custody to mom isn't always the call
How would it be to give custody to DAD
I'm loving and honest those traits don't seem bad
I want my daughter to feel safe and secure
Right now that picture looks pretty obscure
I can build her sandcastles and wonderful forts
Her mother just sees me as child support
This heart that is breaking and emotions so sad
Contrary to belief it belongs to a DAD
Many people believe only women can show love
Did they forget the Man up above
Judge, my daughters future is up to you
So please take your time and think it through
She is my gem , my perfect pearl
Please don't take away DADDY'S little girl
My love is unconditional, not a phase or a fad
SHE IS MY DAUGHTER.... I AM HER DAD
