Most of the spam coming into this site emanates from non-English countries, such as Russia, China, Malaysia, Phillipines, Hungary, Romania, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Brazil, to name just a few.
I'm still not completely sure what the incentive is for those people, and why they spam so much. I suppose it's about generating "clicks" or page views for the sites they advertise, but there's no money in that game anymore, i don't think.
I don't get it.
In any event, I'm pretty sure I know how to eliminate the spam entirely, but I haven't had time to deal with the issue. As a band-aid, I occasionally "wipe" the board clean of the spam, because it's much quicker. However, the long term solution is to block it before it hits the board, not clean up afterwards.
Well, with law school related studies completed, that's one less huge time constraint I face. However, I'm only beginning to catch up on the myriad of things that I put on the back burner for so many years. I'm working full-time (for the time being), and still have child related obligations, which most people would consider a full schedule. By comparison to the last few years, it seems like a vacation to me.
