It sounded to me like the Guardian ad litem had already reviewed all of the evidence and made recommendations. Am I wrong about that?
Usually after the GAL issues their report, most cases settle out of court. It can happen that if you push it to a court trial that a judge may decide something different than what the GAL recommended, but most often the final outcome is not very far from what is outlined in the GAL report.
