as to the method of my papers being served. Does anyone know if being served divorce papers via regular first class mail (34 cent stamp) is normal. My understanding is legal papers should be served on the defendant by a live person such as a deputy sheriff/marshall etc. Also does it seem unorthodox that, according to the documents, this case was filed on August 16, 2001 but were postmarked August 31, 2001? Is this legal and as a result of this delay, do I have less time to respond? Thanks. Rich.
