Well I took some of your advice, CD, and spent a few hours observing the Family Court at my local courthouse. Watching all of this was fascinating but heartbreaking at the same time. I felt kind of uncomfortable watching such an intimate part of a family's life, but I certainly wasn't the only one watching. It was a fascinating case and kind of a stange one with elements of tax fraud, perjury, and even alleged prostitution. It was interesting to see how the attorneys and the judge operate, also. I couldn't really relate to the specifics since it wasn't a move-away, but it really makes you realize how important it is to try and settle as many issues as possible before getting to court. Otherwise, it can really dragggggggggggg on for a long time. I feel like I'm writing a book report for a field trip but, I have to maintain my sense of humor as it's getting closer to mediation and any legal showdowns. What a fun holiday season to look forward to (I'm being sarcastic). Oh yeah... I tried to call NY to say "Hi" to our son, but no luck connecting with him today as wife was out and about buying dinner (I guess for the whole family there). I suppose any hurdles my STBX puts up to prevent contact will look better for me if we need to go to court and I seek custody. Anyway...I'll try again tomorrow. Rich.
