is almost up. Well here I am Saturday night looking forward to seeing my son after my STBX took him to NY for the week. I can really relate to what CD wrote on a recent post re "Divorce is hell". Sometimes takes things a while to sink in but I'm really getting the message about how little I mean to my STBX, not so much as a husband (i know that already) but even as our child's father. My reasons? Even though our son doesn't really talk yet, I called to say "hi" on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and even though I left a message with her sister on Wednesday and with voicemail on Th, Fr, not once did I get a call back. I don't think this is how a person would even treat a stranger. Funny how it's so easy for some women (or maybe some men, too) to go on with their lives and totally discount the importance of the other parent in their child's life. I know I'm just ranting now, but just wanted to vent. Maybe this will look "favorably" for my case if I need to prove that the move is spiteful to inhibit visitation by me. I didn't think it was but now I'm not so sure. I'm not even 100% sure I'll see my son tomorrow. I just hope this doesn't turn into a parental kidnapping case. I hate to think bad thoughts, especially since I was the one left "carrying a torch" for my ex but after you get kicked in the teeth enough, how is one supposed to feel? Anyway, more importantly, on Friday I attended a PACT class which is mandatory in LA county before one goes to mediation. Alot of good info primarily focusing on the need to think through your childs eyes and do what's best for the child. Duh! But, I know that already. Hopefully, my wife will realize that moving 2500 miles to NY with our son and away from his father is not the best thing, especially when viewed through his eyes. I'm looking forward to(hopefully) spending alot of time with my son this week. Yeah! I'll keep you posted as we get closer to next weeks mediation session.
