I just went to Mediation with my ex in Sept of this year. That makes 3x's in 3 years. It was never a pleasant experience for me. I was nervous and tried to anticipate what he was going to say. This kept me up many many nights. I had my notebook and kept a clear head this time. I too am going thru a move away situation. I am going on Wednesday for "round one" of what could be a long ordeal. Anyway when I went in Sept she talked to my ex alone 1st, then me alone, When I heard what he was offering (one month in the summer and 1 week at Christmas) I said there is no reason to continue this meeting because I do not accept his terms. He wants to move from CA to HI. I see my child every other weekend and call and leave messages 4 times a week but never get to hear his voice. So basically I went thru the motions per my lawyers advice. And this will be resloved one way or the other in court. I wish you luck tomorrow. Don't sign or agree to anything unless that's what you really think is best for your child. Mediators don't take sides. I hope you have a sincere person to mediate and will help you make the best choice for your child.
Please let us know how it went. I'll say a special prayer for you tonight. Good Luck
