I called my STBX and told her I am seeking another mediator who is unbiased. She asked me why I wanted another one since she thought we were close to agreement. I told her I need to feel confident that my son will be in my life and until that time, I can't sign ANYTHING. I told her that she wouldn't agree to anything either if the roles were reversed and she didn't know if she would see her son. She got ticked off and said we should just go to court. Obviously this puts a monkey wrench in her NY plans. She later seemed to feel mediation was better, maybe because she realized she doesn't have an attorney and doesn't want to represent herself in court. She told me she will get a job within 1 month but until then her relatives will pay for her to bring our son to visit me. BS. I am not agreeing to anything that doesn't sit well with me. I told her that she needs to realize that our son has BOTH a mother and a father and to stop acting like all the cooperation with visitation times etc is like doing me so many favors. I wish I felt the legal system would back me up, but for the time being I'll rely on my hardball stance. Not to sound malicious but maybe it's good that for awhile she realize what it feels like to not have everything looking rosy on the horizon and not to know if your child will be in your life, too. That's how I've been living for long months now.
You all know I'm not that mean but I am human (devilish grin).
