Update on "substitution of attorney". My old attorney is amazing (in a bad way). I went there on TU to get the other attorney to sign. When I showed up, she was gone. I went on TH, when my attorney was to be back from her 10 day vacation. Get this. The paralegal intercepted me at the door and told me she faxed the signature to my new attorney and that my attorney was not there. She also would not tell me when my old attorney would be back. I left for 20 minutes. Then, as I was about to drive off, I had this gut feeling. I reparked the car, walked up to the attorneys window (plainly visible from the street) and low and behold, THERE SHE IS.
I knocked on the door and asked her if she would sign the form and she said "no" and proceeded to close the venetian blinds. She wouldn't even discuss some money she still owes me. I will contact the state bar in the near future, but first things first. Now you see the type of attorney this person is and why I was so eager to place my faith in someone better. Especially since the lives of my son and I being together are riding on this. The timer is running, and all systems are "GO" for the hearing in 11 days. Bye for now.
ps: I still have my son tonight!
