HOWEVER, THERE HAVE BEEN MANY, UPON MANY WHO SAID "PULL THE PLUG" BUT THEN RECOVERED, AND WERE THANKFUL THE PLUG WAS NOT PULLED.

Exactly how many HRUs? And under what circumstances and after how long?

IT IS DIFFERENT TO BE HOOKED UP TO RESPIRATORS AND PULL THE PLUG AS OPPOSED TO STARVING TO DEATH. JMHO

Oh really...you have personal experience? I do and believe, you just don't "pull the plug" and the person immeadiately dies. Oh no HRUs...that's NOT how it works...not how it works at all.

It took our mother almost twelve HOURS to die after they removed the respirator. I was there during her final five hours...holding her hand, singing her favorite hymns, praying, crying...watching as her body struggled for every breath.

While Mom felt no pain (morphine)...I hurt like HELL! This was my MOMMY and I didn't want to let her go, but I knew that this is what she wanted and I loved my mother enough, to set aside my own selfish wants.

I was looking at her face when she took her final breath HRUs...she smiled...and then she was gone.

Do NOT be deceived into believing by the media (ie she was being inhumanely "starved to death") that Terri is in any physical pain. My mother was not my first experience, nor I'm sure, will she be my last. Just before Christmas, I was one of several people who made the decision to remove the respirator from a very good friend (his family included us in this decision). It was God's blessing that he died within a couple of hours.
