But if dad isn't willing to give over, I just don't see it as a huge point to battle. If dad wants to hear the conversation, he is going to make sure he is listening. If dad is doing it to maintain a perceived level of control or even to just tick her off, he is going to get his jollies off of her complaining about it. To ignore it would then be the best approach because if she makes it clear she doesn't care, he will likely stop.
