For us late April, May, Memorial weekend and summers get all screwed up. Last year it actually had to get written into the papers that no parent gets 3 weekends in a row. Stupid.... you think adults that each love their kids could agree to something like that but not this woman! Seven years later, remarried, about to graduate as an RN, invited into the nurses honor society, graduating magna cum laud (sounds like a smart woman), and she still hates DH more than she loves the kids.
Every Wed. night is phone call night. For seven years it has been phone call night at 7p.m. every wednesday. Every wed. night DH calls. This week she was pissed because she lost a battle this past weekend and guess what the kids were not home. She forgot it was Wednesday She really kills me!!!!
We had the kids this past weekend. Next weekend is hers (by rotation) but the following weekend is Mothers Day (ours by rotation) and the weekend after that is her grad. weekend and she wants the kids. The grad. weekend was discussed last month and DH told her he understood that she wanted the kids with her for that weekend.
So this sunday DH tells mom he wants the kids this coming weekend because she will have them for the next two weekends for moms day and her grad. weekend. After a small argument she agrees to let DH have the kids this weekend....you would think it would all work out two weekends in a row for each of them. NOPE!!!!
As it turns out Momorial weekend is ours this year. And the weekend after mom graduates the kids don't have school on Friday so DH gets them on Thursday by the papers. Mom pitched a FIT because for the w/e after grad. DH gets 4 days and then the following w/e is Memorial w/e and DH gets 4 days. OHG!!!!
She actually tried to say that since DH gets the kids for an extra day on the w/e before memorial weekend he can't have memorial weekend only memorial day because memorial weekend would be her rotation weekend.
DH told her if she wanted to be that way mothers day fell on his weekend and with out changing the rotation for this weekend so did her graduation weekend.
She had to concede and guess what....... the kids were not home tonight for his phone call. Actually got a message hours after the call time (we had gave up and gone out) stating that they had forgot it was Wednesday and had gone out, shouldn't be to much of a bid deal because DH was going to see the kids the day after tomorrow and...oh we may be a bit late.
GAWD she really kills me!
