man what a control freak. I would hate to work on her wing after she gets her RN. I can just see the sparks fly now. I have put more than one RN in their place. Actually got one required to take remedial training. she never got in my face again. The RN was the director of the ICU she was not watching her ivs, Patient went in to insulin shock, the RN requested me to do a test. I told her to shut off the IV and what meds to give and she said just do the test. I did the test and ran the results to the ER doc. the er doc beat me back to the unit running. first question the doc asked was how long has the Iv been shut off and what meds did you give. the RN answered " well I havent yet". doc told her to leave the unit and call in a replacement. doc wanted her fired. she was no longer the director of the ICU and had to have direct supervision for 3 months. Doc wrote a very nice letter for my file.
