While I understand you felt justified by staying away, the fact remains you walked away from your kids for two years with no involvement. If your not going to be involved, why do you care what their last name is? I recommend you dust yourself off, get up and start fighting for your rights to be a parent. She can't "force" you away, you are allowing yourself to be pushed out by not fighting for involvement. File visitation papers, write them letters, call them, get tehir school schedule to be present at conferences and functions, find out if they are in sports or other activities and get involved. You can only blame yourself because you chose your feelings of frustration and anger at your ex to overrule your love of your children and walked away from them. Re-establish you place in your children's lives then worry about names being changed.
