Still every now and than I don't know how you state works but I know when my friend ex went to jail on related charges on being abusive to her she asked the judge during the court hearing about the rights he'd have to the childern and the judge terminated than.
I would ask the DA how you should pursue in regrads to the childern.I hope the girl are doing good and congrads on the engagement sounds like things are shaping up in your life.
