It's called "emotional abuse", and typically happens when a controlling parent (heavy into the Parental Alienation gig) convinces a doctor that the child is terribly upset about visiting the other parent. "Please help us!" the parent pleads.

The incompetent doctor writes exactly that, which is then used by CPS for grounds to obtain a restraining order, again based on "emotional abuse". For what reason? Because the NCP is trying to force a child to visit against their will.

If you get a decent judge, it will get laughed out of court. This of course assumes that the child will either tell the truth (not really afraid), or will be over-prepaired to the point of being obviously coached.

Like everything else regarding custody, this is yet another weapon used against NCP's, and frankly I wish doctors could be held responsible. I tried to do exactly that, but was rebuffed (no surprise there).
