I just found out that my little cousin, who just turned 16 years old has been living and working in town for about the last 5 months as a laborer. We made contact w/him after he left a message for someone to call him. Long story short, his mother gave him her blessings to leave home (which is in another city). Since making contact with us, I have offered him a place to live and get himself back in school (he dropped out in 9th grade). His father is in prison and mom lives w/a man who doesn't want him to return home. He wants to go back to high school and we want him to also but the school is saying they need to have one of the parents okay for this. My question is what if neither of them respond, can he still get in to school? What rights does he have?
