My ex has not had any contact with my son since he was kicked out in November. Since my son has moved in with me he has raised gis GPA from 2.8 to 3.85. He is only going to be a sophomore and is varsity in football, wrestling and track! His teachers all say he is thriving now that he is living with me. The reason they had a dispute is because my son wanted to go to my grandmothers where we were having a family get-together and his father told him no and then started bad-mouthing my family and myself. There are police records on the entire incident. My 13y/o is still living with his father but I have been buying his school supplies, clothes etc. for the past year. I had to get the boys cell phones because he would not let me call there and talk to them at all, he would tell me, that it was not my time to see them so I couldn't talk to them either. When I had My 13y/o for two weeks this summer his father did not call him once, and we saw him at the grocery store and he did not even acknowldge his own child. On the whole child support thing, I am currently finishing school to be a paramedic & I work about 30 hours a week at a part-time job just so I can pay my child support. My ex also makes twice as much money as me.
My Father passed away at the age of 54 on May 30th and my mother just died of cancer on July 15th my boys were very close to both of their grandparents and my 13y/o called his father when my mom passed away and told him he just needed to see his dad and his dad told him he would see him when he came home from visitation with me-a whole week later!
I would appreciate any advice on what to do. My ex used to be a great father-he was involved in everything the boys did-now he doesn't ever even go watch them at all their sporting events.
