father figure, again I say you are not wrong to care about her child and definitely not wrong to help care for the child if you plan on a long-term serious relationship with the mother and child.
But please don't attempt to downgrade the true father. If he says he wants time with his child, then he wants time with his child. Saying he doesn't want time with his child while he is fighting someone who is NOT the father to get time with his child, doesn't make any sense.
If he wants time with his child, he should have it, and you ARE wrong to try to take it away.
