We are foster paernts for 18 years. The laws have changed we need help. We had a child placed in Dec. 9, 2003. He is a shaken baby from the father. He went home after he came out of the coma. He lost his sight can not use his right arm and hand, can not sit or walk. He has a eating problemalso do to this. Well about two weeks later the mom dropped him on his head. He had to go in for surgey. This time they brought him in to care. The grandparents call at home the caseworker asked how to get him out of care. She told them what they had to do they never did. Well in Oct. 2004 the county asked us if we would like to adopt this child we said yes. Well mom was mad. Both parents have bee charged with indangering a child again with the other kids they have. This is why it was changed from return to parent. Well on Dec.14, 2004 the grandmother files papers and said she will move her daughter and family down to Virginia with them and help her take care of this child. The grandpaernts never called this child or sent him a letter or card of any kind. Well this was in court we were not a lound to say any thing. These grandparents sat at court 45 min. before we went in to the court room never asked about this child or if they could see him. This happen 3-4 time, the caseworker and I both sat there. They county wanted him to stay with us. Well on June 3, 2005 the court said they can take him. So we had to let them take him for extened visits for a month. Each time he was not feed like they were told to they did not change his diaper but only 3 times aday I marked everything I sent. Well as of June 30, 2005 they took him for good now they are not taking him to the Dr. and he was suppose to be to one the first week he got to Virginia it has been one month still no Dr. This county has that county going in to check on him each week.They said they would have to file with this court to bring him back here and into care. Well so what this child could die. The reson the grandparents wanted him was they are planning to give him back to his parents after this county is out of the picture in a year. Were are his right. Where are our rights as a foster parent. They said because the parents rights were not terminated so we don't have rights is this true. I was told if you have a child at least 12 months we have a right to interven on the case. Please some one help us. We paid a lawyer $5,500.00 and she did nothing. I was told she was good. She never asked a question well in the judges chainbers. Please help. before it is to late for this child dies. Roseamry
