I received a bill from the GAL regarding custody case for my daughter. I never knew what she charged an hour because she was appointed by the Judge without the judge even considering the selections that I had made. This woman charges $200 hr. The initial fee was $750 and no more was said about any other fees until I get this bill. She is wanting me to pay half of $3,484 when some of the things are about nothing I was even aware of until now like; the GAL traveling to the county my child is in and talking to the counselors her mother has/had her seeing and the school principal and teacher. I have not yet paid her but am afraid to speak with her because I know the $ is ticking ever time I speak with her. I know until she receives some sort of payment this case will not move any further. I want to keep cost down so I can continue to fight for my child not pay for the womans trips out of the country. Which she is about to go on and wants to cancel the upcoming court date putting in into Oct. I have retained an attorney that is willing to work with me and I want to be able to pay the person that I know is on my side. What can I do about her.
