You are correct I am 49 years old. My brother was in the process of re-locating his family back home before his untimely death. I would gladly settle for "family time" if it weren't for the situation. They want to adopt and totally cut us out. They have told CPS we are not the right class of people. I asked for vacation to Florida (because of health reasons my father cannot travel) They said when the kids are 10. I was allowed to come for a week and spend time with the kids. And of course emergency staffing meeting a week before visit-everything changed,no overnight. They said next time but now can't get in touch with anyone for next time. I have been told by CPS (off the record) that they are in a minimally safe home. The great aunt has control issues,a very sterile enviroment,no affection. But nothing you can actually show this is bad situation. The ongoing caseworker told me I was definetly getting the short end of the stick(his words) then he was transfered off the case. The mother has agreed to transfer the case to fl and fl is willing to take it but I don't know what all is involved and I'm sure it will be appealed.
