For the most part I think Francine's hissy fits are fun to watch, as opposed to worthy of response. However, the recent histrionics have reached a shrill enough level that it's worth putting out a couple simple relevant facts: 1. PEP is about Rebuttable Presumptive 50-50 Custody. I'm not sure how Francine has come up with the hallucinations to the contrary but there's a fact. 2. Here's another. Nested within a regime of Rebuttable Presumptive 50-50 custody is ... the opportunity to rebut. It's hard to imagine a scenario more likely than divorce in which, if one or the other spouse has relevant dirt on the other parent's parental fitness, the relevant information will come out. This is as it should be. If the presumption can be rebutted, it should be. That means presenting information about how the other parent abuses or neglects his/her kids. 3. Finally: the logical alternative to BIC isn't CP favoritism. Rather, I think it's likely that as applied to many contemporary fit parents the CP/NCP distinction will end.
Terrible, huh? No wonder Francine's so worried! What I've described above would leave busybodies with very little public problem to diatribe about.
