I hired an attorney back in Feb of 04. He stated to me that for what I was paying him he would get me my child (lied and he never should have promised that hinesite). Anyway he started giving me the run (not answering calls, e-mails or meeting with me when I showed up at the office. Three months had went by and still nothing had been filed, my fiancee started calling becasue I had got so frustrated all I wanted to do was bodily harm. She got in good with the paralegal and she helped get my original petiton for custody filed. Three more months went by and no response from mom. Finally got in court in Aug or Sept of 04. Now the owner of the firm is respresenting me becasue we wrote him a threating letter. He was trying to smooth things over, becasue he knows this guys reputation for taking peoples money and running. get to court and the mother has had enough time to hire an attoreny. Attorney for my side brings this up about her missing the deadline to responde to the petition and the judge never raised her head just continued to write and order up the expensive menu of Mediation, GAL and a side of Parenting classes. Eventually when this attoreny found out that i was not going to pay him another dime until he showed me what the otehr one did with my money he told me he could withdraw. In between that we had discussed how expensinve this whole thing would be and she called the GAL and told her she wanted to settle. During the June court date the mother told the judge that we had come to a settlement and we were going to continue the everyother weekend and me having her for the summer. I gave her a parenting plan reflecting that and she said she would have hre attorney look it over. she didn't like it because it was to wordy (didn't like it because it didn't leave her any loopholes to jump through and my fiancee had typed it up. the mother had her attorney draw up one pretty much saying the same thing but it was never submitted to court because her attorney withdrew. Which i didn't know until i got a letter in the mail with that information. Excuse the long post.
