Just what I was looking for Jim, especially the last paragraph:-
"Rights = rights, not responsibilities. Responsibilities = responsibilities, not rights. They have the relation to each other described above ... which hardly makes them identical. Words mean what they mean (always in context, of course). If you let your interlocutor act like Humpty Dumpty in Through the Looking Glass ("When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather sconful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less.") you're likely to pay the price that basically honest people have often paid to basically sophistical people: You lose."

I am off to post that back on the other forum - I hope they all appreciate it (maybe my self chosen role in life or destiny is "cross-fertilising" ideas from a range of groups in an attempt to identify common interests).
