Well, in my case, the CP fled the state [MI] against 2 court orders and filed for change of domicile. We filed for change of custody. The judge said "oh so sorry" but didn't force her back. So while we fought for custody for 2.5 yrs and $35K l8tr, we switched the poor child for 2 wks, every other 2 wks. During this time, BM had 2 boyfriends. The first one was with her at the FOC hearing and then she ended up engaged to the second one [8mo l8tr] right before our hearing in front of the judge. We lost and have been fighting for everything for 9 yrs. She did the name change but hyphenated the child's name with her new married one. We took her to court but she whined that she really didn't, others did. The judge believed her. She's a diabetic and has ended up in the hospital and we took her to court because the child found her lying on the floor in blood at 6yr. She told the judge this would never happen and they let it go. Now she has 2 more kids. The grandmother hates me and tells my child regularly.
Don't look for fairness and don't give an inch. It won't get you anywhere. WE have 3.5 yrs left and we do what we can because the BM now takes it all out on our child. She loves it here with us [wife of 12 yrs, 3 kids] but we have told her it would be a battle and she would be living in the BM home until it was over. What can you do?
