The downside is obviously this will interfere with his contact with the children. That is important, but a lesser concern now.
Depending on the allegations and if there are chareges, you will need a child sexual abuse expert. that expert will review the interview of the child. It generally occurs in what they call a "soft room". The interview will involve anatomially correct dolls. In most cases the interviewer is not trained well. They will lead the alleged victim. they will ignore negative responses and focus on the positive with regard to whether the assault occurred.
If not trained --if leading- a good expert can blow them out of the water. The interview which takes a manipulable child and leads that child to the answer can irreparably damage evidence even creating false memories. That is how these case are attacked.
If you would like more info, e-mail my office at mbeaulier@hjlawfirm.com. I have worked on these cases in four states. They are significant. One of teh most important issues is that regardless owf what plea is offerred in most states (it could even be disorderly conduct) , it is still a fast track to a DNA sample and appearing on sex offender list.
This is the McCarthism of the 2000's.
