but more and more woman are eliminating fathers from their children's lifes. One of the divorce attorneys I consulted has twin via artificial insemination. She sees in her work what it means to have so-called father avoid all responsibility for their children (it seems to be easy to find a girlfriend or new wife to take care of the kids) while continuing to control every breathing minute of the children and the ex-wife. My cousin's girlfriend refuses to marry him. Why? Because she knows he is too poor to file a paternity action. She knew if she married him before giving birth to their son, he would gain all the control and she would lose it. As a poor unwed father with no rights, she has him exactly where she wants him. Unfortunately for her, his mother just inherited some money, so she may not be safe for long. There is no reason for a woman to involve a father if involving a father means nothing except control and abuse of mother and children. After all, most women I know already support their children with ZERO assistance from the so-called dedicated fathers. Their only dedication is avoid all financial responsibility for their children. Until motherhood is respected, woman who are willing to support their children will continue to drift away from marriage and parenting with a partner.
