Mom & Dad have an 11 yo child.
Mom has affair & has a child as a result of that affair. Both decide to pretend that the child is his & let child believe that. Child lives 6 years believing that the man who acts as 'Dad' to him, is 'Dad'.
Mom & Dad divorce.
Now, I'm all for mom & dad letting child know his biological history, as soon as possible. And, helping child to create a relationship with his biological dad.
But, I'm wondering if this is all in anticipation of cutting 'real dad' (the one who child believes to be his father & who acted as his father all of his life) out of his life. It isn't, is it?
(I have a niece who's doing something similar & it is just awful to see what it's doing to both of her kids)
