I have heard previous stories where the custody evaluator goes for a home over an apartment. It is just an impression and often someone trying to recover from the shock of betrayal makes a bad impression. You can't undo what happened unless like Lawmoe says you are still in the appeal stage. In which case check with your lawyer. Children who are being abused or are falling into a depression can be helped.
