My daughter was born 2/17 @ 8:46 pm . . . 8lb 6oz, 21.5" . . . blue eyes, lots of auburn hair. Luckily for her, she looks like my family and not the FOB's!! FOB (father of baby) is not on the birth certificate and she has my last name.
6/05 learned of pregnancy
8/05 FOB disappeared
11/05 FOB stopped by my office to inquire about his email account
1/06 FOB called wanting his keys (apt & van) returned (I'd had them for about a year)
then....
A week after DD was born, FOB called & asked to see her. I don't know how he learned of the birth, I'm guessing he saw her on the hospital website. Anyway I said no that he turned his back on his responsibility 6 mths ago. He said is that the way you see it. Then went on to say he has rights and the courts will enforce those rights and he was hoping not to have to do that. I said goodbye and hung up. That was 3/25. I have not heard from him again.
Last week I saw him in walmart. We were about 20' away from each other, walking towards each other, and no one was between us. As soon as I saw him, I stopped and turned down the aisle to the pharmacy (had a perscription to pick up anyway). He didn't follow.
I am glad that I have no interference from him in our lives. But I am furious that neither him nor his family are trying to be a part of DD's life. In the 5.5 years of being together and seeing their family interacting (and his mother's involvement in her grandkids lives), I NEVER would have imagined things to be the way they are now.
But life is good. My DS (14) loves his baby sister. My mom (who lives next door) is thrilled to be babysitting while I'm at work.
I know there are decent/responsible men out there. And I'm looking for one! lol
