without your consent, this will never fly. So just don't consent. However, if you don't follow court procedures, your failure to object might (in some circumstances) be considered as consent. Be aware.
As to finding a lawyer, it's just like finding a plumber or a roofer, or any other employee or independent contractor. Phone book, word of mouth, and in the case of lawyers - the State Bar association usually has some type of referral hotline.
