Dear Country,

I'm afraid I cannot help you as I don't come from the US, and don't understand your laws, so apologies for that.

I just wanted to ask you to explain why you don't want to be a six to eight days a month dad?

I know it is a stupid question, in a way, because naturally you don't want to lose the level of contact with your son you've been having till now, or as near as you can to that, if possible, but is there more to it?

Do you fear losing out altogether one day, if you can't arrange shared care or parenting? Is that in your mind?

Apologies once again that I'm asking so many questions, especially when you need help here (Lawmoe, Frank, Gecko and the others should provide you with good advice I'm sure, by the way). My main reason for asking these questions is that I hear fathers telling me that having shared parenting is the only way to ensure you stay in your child's life, because courts often won't/don't enforce contact orders for non-custodial parents to see their children.

Whatever happens good luck to you at this very difficult time you must be facing.

All the best, Graham
