Very nicely said. Each decision we make with regards to our children, whether custodial or not, has to be thought out carefully -and- made with love. But, we have no way of knowing whether it's the 'right' decision, sometimes, until much later.
You said that the boys were actually talking about making sacrifices to get back to their mother's home. Sounds like *they* thought that was where they wanted to be (or should be), too.
