Dear Lawmoe,

Thanks for your post.

All I can say is this (and please excuse the implied criticism):-

It is about another "human being" and whether you can just stand by and watch what happens to him without doing anything.

I've attempted to send a message to John's attorney or representative Teri Stoppard, and I'm sure you would approve of the things I've said.

A father (or mother) cannot jeopardise their own life without having a negative impact on their child obviously (a "best interests of the child" argument from me of all people).

However, many men and women have put themselves in jeopardy for their beliefs, even disregarding their children if they believe in their cause enough, and no doubt John has thought of all the possible scenarios or all these arguments himself.

Even so I just think we should be trying to persuade him to change his mind, and the authorities to do what they can as well, before a sad end to this tale ensues.

Your trenchant belief in the law or the rule of law is to be admired, and we all rely on order in society of course. However when there arises men like John Mutari, who must feel impelled to act as they are doing, and calling for restraint by anyone who might wish to lobby for support on their/his behalf, there has to be alternative courses of action to be taken.

Mr Mutari might change his mind if he feels his campaign is gaining sufficient attention or reasonable consideration - lets hope so anyway.

Can you support him on that basis?

All the best, Graham
