The same thing occured when she stole my ID and used my credit card. California law says that I do not have to loose a penny for this to be a crime. It is in fact a felony. The local sheriff refused to take a complaint, stating that I did not loose anything. the fact that she stole my ID is the crime.
She tried to get her second husband in trouble for hot checks. she knew that the account was over drawn and wrote checks for about 500 dollars, expecting the cops to arrest her soon to be ex husband. But, much to her surprize the cops said you signed the checks you are the responsible party and you are under arrest. she hired an attorney to bargain her out of the criminal charge then made three payments on the agreement and left the state and never paid the attorney. she believes that all money belongs to her because she wants it that way.
When she filed for unpaid child support arrears when none were due, she also filed for colorado medicaid. When I proved she was not due any arrears I also proved that she had committed medicaid fraud because she was ordered to pay the medical insurance for our child, not me.
The result of this was that the agency refused to prosecute her because she did not use the insurance and they would not chase her down to New Mexico. It is clearly medicaid fraud.
