In my husband's case both parties are supposed to carry insurance, but BM didn't for quite a long period of time. DCS would not enforce trying to force her to get coverage for SD, even though it was court ordered. Because we provide coverage, the child was not uninsured or covered by the state, they didn't care. Her not carrying coverage of course cost more out of pocket expenses. She rightly choose not to bill us for them though. Have to give her credit for that. If we had not complained about her being out of compliance with the court order though, I'm sure she would have tried.
