Well, he has worked for the schoold district for 22 years. Child support has always been deducted per court order.
So, now my job begins...rebuid a credit report. I do this with alt tradelines and show the collections are invalid. Hmm, the biggest task-Attorney General's office.
We have attempted to have the credit company call the AG's office. They say "sorry, we do not offer letters showing their was and error". Keep in mind this needs to be done to close.
The borrowers have gone to the local office to see if they can get a letter...nothing...even though they admit it is incorrectly reported.
Needless to say, we got a conference call...the borrower, sc division, credit company and myself. They acknowledged it was possible it was incorrect reporting but could not confirm 1005. The credit company went ahead and updated. They are closing next week. But it is yet another example of how the courts/AG seem to think the are in charge of our lives...and to an extent they have a powerful influence.
Anyways, just venting at how out of control our gov't is with the power we, the people, grant them. I think they lose sight as to whom they serve.
p.s. Afterward I asked the nice lady who supplied her with a paychek? She told me payroll why? I said "hmm, guess you forget that we, thetax payers, ultimately write her check". She didn't get it.
