I am CP, it's no huge secret I left my husband and had had an affair (now my dh) I stayed with my DH cause I couldn't afford anything else from Mar-may, the kids alternated weeks. Summer was my ex's time and I had a job opp in another state. My Ex agreed to keep the kids for 2 weeks into the start of school.
Well he changed his mind and with 2 weeks left and threat of being fired if I left the job early, my now DH called to say ex had dropped the kids off and volunteered to go back to SAUDI. THANK GOD I was still dating DH!!! Ex never even checked with me first.
My kids still remeber that and were very scared over it even though DH is a great dad and was good to them and they HAD stayed in his home for months with me. this is why I have said it depends on the kids and the relationships.
