My mom alienated me from my dad. She moved, and moved, from Ohio, to another state, then Texas. She would bad mouth him a lot. Made me one time call to find out why the child support check was late.

Havent spoke to "dad" in 15 to 20 years. While I don't condone his acts, in the 70's and 80's dad could do nothing...what could he do. Mom's actions caused the difficulty in maintaining a relationship. Sadly, we were never better off financially. There was no benefit to moving..how much of a benefit is there to put "money" ahead of a parent.Hmmm, maybe I am a little bitter LOL. I know what alienation is like from a childs perspective. I have come to realize this was a form of it in the past couple of years.
It is a load to cary during the teen years. Took a long time to simply let it go...wasn't my fault.
