I understand your point Frank, but you are crossing reality with idealism somewhere in your opinion.

The reality is that at this time parents in MN (based on Sally's situation) do not have to choose between moving somewhere else for a better job or leaving the kids behind -- it's idealistic but not reality.

In this case, Sally and her dh will be allowed to move. the NCP could move at anytime oo. The only question left to answer is will the kids gain or lose time with their mother?

How would you suggest Sally's dh answer that? I haven't seen any other suggestions other than mine. In fact all I've seen is a lot of negativity w/ no solutions.. what good does any of that do.

If you are certain my suggestion is so poor.. make another. I'm sure that's why Sally came to this site to gather information on as many possible alternatives she could to share with her husband. So far I haven't seen any and for a group of people committed to reforming the current custody laws, I'm surprised everyone passed up the opportunity to help one more family achieve a workable 50/50 shared parenting agreement.

True custody reform should be a grass roots effort, one family at a time. It looks like Sally's family was just lost to the movement.. will the next person looking for help be too?
