I would say "Yes" to your question if you mean emotional responsibility, but the father would still have to pay for his mistake under "my suggested system" for family law, just as now.

It is impossible of course for a woman to be "deceived" into having a child unless she was foolish enough to believe a man who said he had his tubes tied when she didn't really know that was the case. It is wrong for either party to deceive the other in these circumstances obviously (although I have sympathy for mothers who deceive the husbands into having another child when he may be reluctant at first). I hope my posts emphasised the differing levels of repercussions for the parents too - the mother can't walk away so easily from an unwanted pregnancy, even with the abortion option, because that creates emotional scars doesn't it.

I can't see your problem with my statement/s generally as I've said, and I hope you agree with my points about it being irresponsible to produce a child with a man you didn't think you loved at the time.
