Dear Gecko,

You have hit the nail on the head here - Quote:
"It is so sad that people can't have morals or principals without be accused of being prejudice."

Please see my post on Catholic adoption agencies being forced to consider gay couples.

My views on this subject have changed over the years I have to admit (from being pretty homophobic once) so that now I am happy to accept homosexual couple being considered in adoption cases, although like the Catholics I don't think I could ever have participated in it myself, if I'd been in a position of responsibility. I wouldn't go to a gay marriage or civil ceremony either, so I suppose I must still hold on to some predjudice. However in my view it is as much about giving marriage between a man and a woman some special respect or heightened position in society as anything else (though the prevalence of divorce undermines heterosexual marriage all the time obviously).

I admire your willingness to be so open about your opposition to homosexual relationships, although I hope that like myself, you are able to like and be friends with any gay people you know disregarding their sexuality.

All the best, Graham
