My son has had pneumonia. He has been on antibiotics, cough suppressant, and a breathing treatment.

Initially, the cough was very bad where cough medicine barely made a dent. The second day I approached the mx amount by 2 pm. The doctor wote an rx for a steroid to give one aday to try to reduce the inflamation.

Well, I was trying to track down a famliy memember to watch my son while I ran the errands and pick up the rx. Finally, I asked my neighbor of 2 years. My son plays with their grand children.

Well, he was hacking. My neighbor, without permission, gave him a dose of Robitussin D, adult formula...he says 1 teaspoon.

Keep in mond my son hd 5 doses in 6 hours (doctoor said that was fine but NO MORE).

I came unglued on the guy. 1) he did not know how much he has had and 2) what if he was allergic...Cough medicine is a very potent OTC drug....many kids each year OD because parents give adult dosesd, not kid doses.

Anyways, I chewed the guy out (in his home). They are not only giving me attitude now, but never even apologized.

Footnote: my son began experiencing mild signs of OD- excitability, rambling. The doctor called Poison Control and they said he should be fine but stop the suppressant for 12 hours. WTF?

WOULD ANYONE ELSE HERE GIVE ANOTHER PERSONS CHILD A DRUG WITHOUT CONSULTING, CALLING, OR KNOWING THE HISTORY?
