Document as much as you can. Perhaps you can did up more on the weirdo Step Dad. If in deed he is what you say, over time you will prevail.
I would document he is still with the kids and repetition the court. Yea, they may throw the cs issue at you but a ghood attorney should be able to show what has more weight. Try an ex parte on your behalf and with a different judge. An ex parte does not require the other party to be in the courtroom.
Also, get the order, take to the Sherrif, and then see iof there may be a child endangerment issue, perhaps show she is violating the order she requested.
I learned my first time there is not a single incident...you have to document, document, document. Also, see what the state law is about recording conversations...you could play that card for a while
