When my husband wasn't working I found out that if you don't make payment arragements with the CS office and there is no longer an employer forwarding payments, here in WA they freeze any bank accounts that had my husband's name on it and automatically take all the money out (up to the monthly amount owed), every month. Our bank charges a $75 fee each time this happens.

They did this even when I thought we had arrangements set up.

My advice would be (in addition to geting that reduction paperwork filed ASAP) to get any money you do have at this point into a bank account that is in your name. Call the CS office again, and let them know that he has no income and that only a very minimal payment will be made each month. Here the minimun is $50.
