To let you know the whole story.
The mother of the child was married to another man when the child was born. There was a DNA test done when the child was 1 week old, proving the husband was not the father. The mother was not the person who contacted us regarding the child being my fiance's.There was no other man in the child's life the last time we talked to the mother. She had stated many times that she does not want my fiance involved in the child's life.I am overwelmed at the one-sidedness of the legal system when it comes to parental rights.I myself am a divorced mother of two and I never imagined men have no legal rights to their child even after paternity has been established.I wonder why, in certain situations, the mother's shouldn't also have to go to court and have a judge tell them if they can see their child?
If we would have know he fathered this child when she was a week old,we wouldn't have to worry about judges, counseling, spending thousands of dollars we don't have.He would have been her father from day one.Where does the blame lie? Who put this poor child in the situation of not knowing her father?
My fiance has paid his child support forom the day he was ordered to. He has tried to purchase health insurance for the child, but needs information from the mother. The mother has to do nothing but collect her child support and not answer any correspondence sent to her.
