LOL...you never met the ex. ;)
I think the real reason why more men pay CS than women is because too often, women are the lessor wage earner and they need the money to support the child(ren). The ex makes twice what I do...he doesn't "need" the money...he can support our children without my financial contribution, but it's not about "need"...it's about what is right.
A woman who truely makes 100,000 probobly does not need the child support money to make ends meet.
What does "making ends meet" having anything to do with one's moral and legal responsibility to support the child(ren) that you brought into this world?
Does our child support system often not consider all the relevant factors and make unfair CS decisions that severely detriment the non-custodial parent...definately.
And people don't always consider all the relevant factors either and thus decide that the system is unfair...but is it really? I've been a CP and NCP...I received and paid child support...I understand BOTH sides and when you get down to the basic concept...it is neither fair or unfair and it it is both fair and unfair.
But the one truly "unfair" thing about the current system...is the fact that it has become a money-making enterprise for the states because of the federal kickbacks.
When you consider the actual cost of "child support enforcement" *business*, more money is spent on it than has been spent in "welfare".
